Add custom fields to capture customer information that is specific to your business, and control whether those fields are required and where they appear.
Before you start #
- Decide what customer information you need to capture and whether staff must complete it.
- Choose a clear field name and decide where within the customer form it should appear.
Open Custom Fields #
Go to Settings → Custom Fields under Fields & Forms.
Add a field #
Choose Add Custom Field. Enter the field name, select Customers as the Custom Field Location, then choose a field type.
Set its behaviour #
Choose whether the field is required, set a maximum character count if appropriate, and enter a sort order to position it within the module.
Save and organise customer fields #
Choose Save Custom Field. Expand the Customers group to review its fields. You can edit a field, enable or disable it, and drag fields to change their display order.
What happens next #
The custom field is available in the customer module. Your team can enter the information when creating or editing a customer record. Field order and enable/disable switches save immediately.
