Custom Email SMTP Settings

Before you start #

Repair Pilot can send outgoing email through its own servers by default. Configure SMTP only if you want to use your own email provider. You will need the connection details and credentials from that provider.

1

Open Email Settings #

Go to Settings → Email Sending (SMTP).

2

Enter the sender and server details #

Enter the From Address, Email Server, Email Port and the encryption settings supplied by your email provider.

3

Add authentication if required #

Enter the email username and password supplied by your provider. Keep these credentials private.

4

Test the connection #

Enter a test recipient and select Send Test Email. This sends a real email. Review the test result and check the recipient’s inbox.

5

Save the settings #

When the connection is correct, select Save Email Settings.

What happens next #

Repair Pilot uses the configured SMTP server for outgoing email. If the SMTP fields are left unconfigured, Repair Pilot’s servers are used.

Common questions #

Do I have to set up SMTP?
No. Leave the SMTP details unconfigured to use Repair Pilot’s servers.

Does the test button send an email?
Yes. It sends a real test email to the address entered in Test recipient.
