# Create an invoice from a job

Generate an invoice from a job after reviewing the customer, work and charges.

## Before you start

- Check the customer and job breakdown, including quantities, prices, discounts and tax.
- Check whether an invoice has already been created before creating another.

 1

### Open and review the job

Find the job and check the **Job Breakdown** and total. Complete any pricing corrections before creating the invoice.

2

### Choose Send To Invoice

Open the top-right three-dot menu and select **Send To Invoice**. The confirmation asks whether you want to create an invoice for this job.

Confirm only after checking the job and its charges.

3

### Confirm and review the invoice

Select **Ok** to create the invoice, or **Cancel** to return without creating it. Review the resulting invoice, including the customer, line items, tax and total, before sending it or recording payment.

## What happens next

The invoice is available for further invoice actions. Creating the invoice and sending it to the customer are separate steps; check the invoice screen for the next action you need.

## Common questions

### Does marking the job Paid create an invoice?

No. Paid is a job flag and does not create an invoice or payment record.

### Must I email a quote first?

Use your team’s approval process. Send To Invoice is available from the job; emailing a quote is a separate action.
