# Assign jobs to staff members

Set responsibility for the whole job and, where needed, assign individual repairs to different staff.

## Before you start

- The staff member must already be available in your account.
- A job-level assignment and an individual repair assignment are separate controls. Check both when work is shared.

### Assign the overall job

Open the job. In **Overview**, select the current **Assigned To** value, choose the staff member and save using the control shown. You can also choose Assigned To when booking a new job.

### Assign an individual repair

Open the **Assignments** tab. Find the repair card and select its edit control. Choose the staff member in **Assigned To Id**, review **Due At**, then select **Save Changes**.

Individual repair assignments let you share work within a job.

### Review responsibility and progress

Check the assigned name on the job or repair card. The Assignments board groups repairs by progress, including Not Started, In Progress and Completed. Use **Job History → Assignment** to review job assignment changes.

## What happens next

The job or repair shows the selected staff member. Assignment notifications depend on the notification settings for your account and users.

## Common questions

### Does assigning one repair assign the whole job?

Treat these as separate responsibilities. Review the overall Assigned To value as well as individual repair cards.

### Can I assign several jobs at once?

Yes. Select jobs on the jobs list and use the Change Assigned To bulk action.
